It was a blissful evening on Friday, 29th December 2017, at the Urland Café in the Xiamen University School of Law as the International Students of the faculty crowned the year with an end of year party. It was a first time for the first-year students, an enthusiastic evening for continuing students and a memorable one for exchange students as we all gathered to have a wonderful evening full of music, games, dance and lots of food and drinks to end the year 2017.
The party began with key note addresses from the Dean of the Law School Professor Song Fangqing, the Vice Dean Professor Zhu Xiaoqin and distinguished professors in the likes of Professor Chen Huiping and Professor Fang Dong. The Dean of the law school expressed her profound gratitude for the excellent achievement of the faculty being one of the top law schools in China and appreciated the participation of international students in this achievement. She continued to wish the students a happy new year and encouraged them to strive for excellence in their academics to hail the good name of Xiamen University around the world.
Prof. Chen also shared her happiness for being part of the party and advised students to endeavor well in their studies while enjoying their stay in the University. Prof. Fang also spoke of his presence at the party and urged students to continue to take their studies seriously and wished them a happy new year and a successful semester.
The president of the Chinese and International Students Union of the Law School also addressed the gathering with warm messages. Mr. Perry Ackon, president of the International Students Union of the Law School, thanked the School of law for the organization of the end of year party as well as their support for making the faculty a lively, accommodating and conducive learning atmosphere for international students to learn and excel in their academics.
